Behind the wine window

A Florentine restaurant born from the city’s traditions—remembered for what happens at the table.

2013

La Buchetta was founded in the heart of Florence, inside historic Palazzo Bardi and its Brunelleschi loggia.

The idea was simple: create a restaurant genuinely connected to Florence—to its traditions, its food, its history and its way of bringing people together.

A tribute, not a trend

The name comes from the buchette del vino, Florence’s centuries-old wine windows. La Buchetta chose the name in 2013, before the windows became a global phenomenon. For the restaurant, they have always represented something deeply Florentine: wine, history and hospitality.

Italian tradition, Tuscan ingredients

Fresh handmade pasta, selected meats, truffles, pecorino and other Italian cheeses, extra-virgin olive oil and ingredients tied to Tuscan tradition are treated with care. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina uses carefully selected meat and a precise ageing process.

La Buchetta says its reputation has been built one table at a time: around food, consistency, quality and authenticity—not trends.

Our roots are Tuscan.
Our story is Florentine.
